Mr Theo Theodorou is the Chief Executive Officer of Global Education Counselling (GEC) with over 30 years experience in the field of Education. His wealth of experience has been particularly focused in providing for the needs of international students aspiring to University entrance. Mr Theodorou has been responsible for establishing the GEC network of overseas recruitment offices in 10 countries placing over 15,000 students into universities worldwide. He has been the pioneer of the International Degree Foundation Programme (developed in the UK in 1989), the Pre Medical programme, courses to Degree and Pre Masters.
Over the years he has established academic institutions in several countries such as the UK, Cyprus, Nigeria and India. He has held posts as Principal, Head of Department and Dean of a Business School and has attended education conferences presenting papers on international education. In addition to the establishment of institutions and curricula, he has been responsible for developing the strong links with worldwide university partners on which the success of GEC depends. Mr Theodorou and GEC are well known to Embassies and High Commissions worldwide. One of the areas of expertise is the franchising of university Bachelor and Masters programmes internationally and has sat on university academic boards at all levels. Another strength is in educational training programmes with governments as well as the training of university Vice Chancellors and Registrars.
Mr Theodorou has worked with scholarship boards placing 100’s of students into universities worldwide. He is an advisor to the National Universities Commission, Abuja, Nigeria and is currently the Advisor to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Education. Mr Theodorou through His Excellency Henry Seriake Dickson the Governor of Bayelsa State founded the School of Foundation Studies (Boluo Orua Campus) of the University of Africa Toru Orua in April 2017 and is one of the key members of the University team.
